AUTUMN IN THE WOODS – WATERCOLOUR PAINTING

P1080603(1)

I have been meaning to have a go at this woodland scene for a while. I love the contrasts of the lights and darks and the autumn colours add another dimension and another layer of interest. I think I could still push this a little further and might have another go at it – but this is what I’ve got for now.

    • Thanks. I was looking at some work by Ann Blockley. I thought she did mainly flower paintings but saw some stunning landscapes which inspired me. She is moving in the same field as her father John Blockley who I admired for a long time.

  1. Thanks. Someone else made the same comment. The photo does give the painting a greater tonal range then it has in reality as well as a richness of colour which it doesnt really have.
