Playing around with watercolours I didn’t have anything to post, but this morning I went to a life group and came up with this. I’m not sure how the model leant on her left shoulder for so long but she didn’t take many breaks. I tried to keep it simple with clean touches of pastel and on a few occasions I succeeded.

love this! the shadowing juxtaposed with the warmth is outrageous. 🙂 I miss figure drawing or painting.

Thanks Margaret. I find these sessions really useful even for playing around with different media.
Why don’t you start a group with some fellow artists? Even if you cant find suitable models you can always get people to pose for portraits which is just as challenging and open for experimentation.

I should though since I live about 6 miles away from a group that has been meeting on Saturdays for years, it would be easier going there. I got burnt out and I started missing my free Saturdays. Hopefully someday I’ll go back.

You can definitely feel the warmth with the colors you’ve chosen. Beautiful pastel.
