HALSALL MOORINGS – WATERCOLOUR PAINTING

p11600701

In the dash to fill my long/thin frames for an upcoming exhibition I did one of the Leeds- Liverpool canal from the bridge. I did a similar view a few years ago, but this is from a recent photograph. The orientation really suits this format.

It is also three years to the day that I started this blog. I might buy myself a cake.

SEATED MODEL 2 – PASTEL PAINTING

p10203071

A client wanted a figurative male painting in a similar style to another that they own. I originally posted a version of this on 12th January 2015. The pose complements the other painting that they have. Hopefully I have emphasised the muscularity, but I did lose the likeness in the facial features which I felt I captured on the original. I’ve taken years off the guy in this one.

TOWARDS PLEX MOSS LANE – WATERCOLOUR PAINTING

p10203031

Another elongated painting to fill the frames. As in the earlier painting of Formby golf course, the shadows cutting  across from the left in the middle distance seem to add some rhythm to the piece.
