Three figures from recent life sessions, two in acrylic and one in pastel. The top one was playing around in blocks of colour and I decided to reintroduce the background into the figure. I then added more blocks outside and a feeling of disintegration developed.

I really like the top one Graham. The blocks of color from the background intersecting really works. Very nice style, will you be doing more like this?

Thanks Deb. I actually did another last week- see the second figure on April 14th’s blog. I’ve used versions of this a lot: in Nov 10 2014 in a surreal painting and June23 2015/ Oct 26th 2015 in a landscape. I even have a non rectilinear triptych in my kitchen which uses the white wall behind in the spaces between the pieces in a similar manner.
