Just playing around with textures and trying to build up some vocabulary to use in landscapes. Here are a couple with a dendritic feel.

  1. I only use tubes, Shawn – squirting them into the spaces for the pans, then you don’t have to wear your brushes down getting enough pigment out for the painting. When the paint from the tubes goes a bit hard in the pans I run it under a hot tap to get it soft again – I suppose you could do the same for pans.
The only downside is tubes squirted into pans can be quite mobile, so as you are searching for a spot to paint the paint can wander around your paintbox.
