We went out to a bar in Liverpool the other night with some friends and enjoyed a few drinks and a little music. I thought that I would paint the scene and here is the first go. I may yet make some of the background colour more definite as it looks like a yellow mist is descending as it did after the fourth bottle of wine.

You definitely captured the vibe in that little corner of yours. Well done, Graham.

A bit rough around the edges, but it might be worth doing bigger. Thanks, Louise

Lovely work Graham! Very inviting, I wonder what it would look like after a fifth bottle?

Thanks Tiffany. Dont know what IT would look like but in that case I would be in the gutter looking up at the stars – apologies to Oscar Wilde, but I doubt whether he cares.

I love this
I sketch at jazz evenings too when I can get there

Thanks, I’m glad you like it. I must admit I did this from photos. It would have been rude to have drawn – rather like having my head down into a mobile- all the while. Particularly as the guest of honour had just flown in from France and it was their birthday we were celebrating.

Kind of depends
I’ve done quick sketches while they play using the rhythms in the sketch. Not a full painting. I asked.
