
Another reprise. A more finished version of our pinewoods in autumn with their mix of conifer and birch. I am not sure of the shaft of light – that might get amended before I frame it.

I love the way you’ve used blue in this painting – it deepens the shadows and gives the oranges and yellows something to shine against. Great job!

Thanks Joe. Blue and orange – pretty obvious. I did glaze some areas with ultra marine blue to get the smokiness you get in sunny winter pinewoods, but as you cant see it wasnt too successful – and more blue.
