A birthday card for someone special. Painting cards for family and friends can be like making a rod for you own back. When one is seen you get oblique and blatant requests for more – even my daughter complained about being left out and she doesnt even like the stuff I produce – funny old world. These days I am not doing as many, so there is less pressure. This one is of the begonias currently flowering on my decking.
Floral paintings are available for sale on my website; grahammcquadefineart.com
Yes, I get that problem. But worse than that was a expectation of some friends that paintings I didn’t sell at an exhibition would be given to them….

Thanks Farbienne. Glad to be of help. Also note Kim`s comment above as well. It`s a tough life.

😀 I don’t have that problem, I don’t do exhibitions. With me it is so that nobody dares to inquire about my paintings anymore. It’s like the old days when you had holiday slides and tormented your friends for hours. 😀 That’s the reason why I started blogging.

Lovely painting. I think we all have to deal with that problem at some point.

Yep, it’s an issue. I pretty much make all the cards I give, I feel the guilt if I don’t have the time and have to give a store-bought card!

Thanks Tiffany. I suppose the pressure is good for me and the demand has decreased over the years – only a few left to alienate – but I have the guilt if I feel I could have done better.
