SPRING SUNSHINE IN THE BOTANIC GARDENS – WATERCOLOUR PAINTING

Wednesday was a sunny day so I cycled out to get some more information for a painting I was planning. This park was close to my area of interest, so I stopped by and I couldnt resist this contra jour scene of the old Victorian gatehouse to the park and the people enjoying the afternoon sunshine.

YES, BUT LOOK AT THE VIEW – ACRYLIC PAINTING

This image of a couple seated in the shade appealed to me mainly because of the man in his straw hat and resting on his cane reminded me of my grandfather.

I did it in a blocked style though I feel I could have stretched the tonal range on the figures and given the focal area more punch.

Anyway, a taste of the summer, which we are presently rapidly losing.
